Dining Out: Lovely’s Fifty-Fifty

Last night was date night. A hankering for pizza and the desire to try something new brought us to Lovely’s Fifty-Fifty on N. Mississippi St. The food and service were quite good, but what really stuck with me was the interior.

Yes, they stuck with the Portland standard: concrete floors, heavy on the wood, with a roll up garage door. The addition of the bright red-orange Tolix chairs was a playful touch. The warm green on the wall (looked like Yolo to me) combined beautifully with the light wood throughout. I may be partial to that green; my living room is awfully close to the same color.

We split the romaine salad, margherita pizza with arugula, and an affogato with salted caramel ice cream and left perfectly sated. They have a nice selection of beers and wine, and a couple of house made sodas that looked interesting.

If you haven’t been yet…go! It’s delicious, and the space is really quite…Lovely.
